Yesterday officers from Bow West Safer Neighbourhood Team with Bromley North SNT together with the road reduction team exercised an operation along Mile End Road to counter escalating retail theft at Coop, Sainsbury's and Tesco and traffic offences. Elements of the road reduction team were on hand to assist the safer neighbourhood team when necessary and to interdict with vehicles contravening road traffic act. Pooling resources from different teams we were able to achieve the following, 10 persons reported for traffic offences including for no MOT, use of a mobile phone whilst driving and driving without insurance. Also the arrest of 2 prolific shoplifters were undertaken and the seizure of 3 vehicles.
